How Petrol Tracker makes money

Some of the links on this site, like the ones for booking an MOT or a service, comparing car insurance, breakdown cover, tyres or fuel cards, are affiliate links. If you click one and go on to buy or sign up, the company pays us a small commission. It costs you nothing extra: the price you pay is exactly the same as if you had gone to them directly.

We label these links clearly with the word Ad, and they open in a new tab. You never have to use them. If you would rather go direct, you always can.

The promise: your prices are never for sale

The whole point of Petrol Tracker is telling you, honestly, where fuel is cheapest near you. So the one thing we will never do is let money change that. The cheapest-fuel rankings are worked out purely from the official Fuel Finder data by price. No forecourt, brand or advertiser can pay to appear higher, to be called the cheapest, or to be left out. Advertising sits around the data, never inside it.

What we do and do not earn from

We may earn a commission when you book or buy through a labelled Ad link to one of our partners. We do not sell your data, we do not take payment to rank a forecourt, and we do not show pop-up or banner advertising networks that follow you around the web.

Why we tell you this

UK advertising rules ask sites to be upfront when a link can earn them money, and we think that is simply the right thing to do.
